I guess it all in what you like. I can appreciate the solid black obseleta's. Beautiful snakes, but I have a special fondness for these rat snakes that I grew up with, pattern and all. Judging from the interest demonstrated on this forum regarding Ky locality obseleta's, I'm not alone.
