rat snake aquarium Q for 7 footer

i have a 7 foot male rat snake on the way and i was just wondering if a 4 foot long by 3 1/2 high enclosure would be suitable for him. I intend to build the aquiarium my self and i was wondering if it is safe to use cocking to connect the pieces of plexi glass together. If not what should i use to connect the pieces?
