Too bad you didn't put this up last year. I had some of the butt ugliest corns you could imagine -- on purpose. We were able to come across a very interesting looking WC adult male aner corn from FL. Since he was so dark, we started acquiring the darkest, dingiest, brownest female corns (all WC or true locality CB) for a breeding project with that dark WC aner. It was a sick idea of mine that probably would have come to nothing.

Anyway, I got the F1s, gave most of them away to various friends, then sold off the adults and the rest of the babies. (Being F1s, they didn't accept pinks too readily anyway.)

Your post just brought that back up to mind, made me laugh, and I figured I'd share my screwed up thoughts with y'all.

Anyway, the corns you are probably look for can be found in central to north AL. There is a guy who sells a lot of WCs at the B'Ham show from that area. You may be able to get some through that source. One warning: hand pick them! Do not get them mailed to you -- you may not be happy with the condition of some WCs from some sources. Additionally, remember that older corns are normally darker and dark corns frequently lighten up after a year or two in captivity and improved health. Post-prebrumation shed females are alos less melanistic that other snakes.

Good Luck. Email me if you want any contact info for those guys -- I MAY still have something hanging around somewhere.

KJ
