I would definately not buy from a PET COmpany, unless it's a small privately owned shop. I have seen gorgeous Arizona mountain kings for sale on Kingsnake classifieds for around 100 dollars, all from good breeders, you can go there and find any kind of snake you want, for much lower prices than you will pay in a pet store, and can have it shipped to your door overnight. OR.. link on to the "Breeders and Dealers Forum", do your homework, and decide what you want, then find the best price and/or breeding qualities for the snake... FOR YOU.
We have bought 5 snakes from these forums, and all are excellent and doing great! (Christmas shouldn't be regulated to just one day a year, our 5 took a year!) Okay, there IS an obsession problem, be AWARE, once you see "all the candy" you can buy, it will be hard to stop!
Here's our list... a Blairs Gray Banded King, a Blotched King, a Banana Cali king, a Taiwan Beauty, a "red phased" Dusty Hognosed snake, and 2 1/2 years ago, before computer, we "sinned" and bought a baby Pueblan Milksnake from a Fish Gallery, and because of DOC's knowledge, she is doing great... and now is 4 feet long!
(Found out she was bred by Rhonda of N.W. Herps...after 2 years of searching, because Fish Gallery wouldn't tell us who the breeder was!)
