I have but one snake, a ball python. When it became evident that she had an eye problem, we took her to the vet and ended up paying for over twice as much as she cost (a little $35 normal). I think that if you have a lot of snakes it becomes more of a business than a hobby, and you figure you'll end up taking some losses. But I view all my animals as pets, and would take them to the vet if they needed to be taken.
