Aside from the issue of not using a hot rock, it sounds like you may not have a temperature gradient in the cage. One side should be about 72-75 degrees and the other side about 82-85. This gives them the ability to regulate their own body temperature. If they get too warm or too cold, you can sometimes end up with feeding problems or other complications. If you don't have them yet, you can by stick on thermometers for about $3.50/each. Put one near the bottom at each end of the cage. Good luck, Pal. We'll be waiting for that next picture.
