My largest female, South Korean Dione's Ratsnake, Elaphe dione (ssp.), is a little over 40 inches, and the male is 36 inches. That's quite a bit smaller than a full grown Russian. Actually, I think they compliment the Russians very well...another of my favorite snakes. The S.K. diones are nice to look at too. My favorite color phase has a reddish-brown head and blotches on a much lighter ground color with lots of yellowish-creme color on the ventrum.

:If you like the Russians, you'd like this species. They are diurnal and are often in view, exploring their cage, getting a drink, or waiting to be held, etc.
