Doesn't sound good for K. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. You have learned alot in a very short time, much of it the hard way. I expect that you will want to start over soon.
If there are any reptile shows near you, I urge you to check them out. Click on EVENTS at the top of the Kingsnake page, or tell us what city you are in, and folks will make suggestions. Make sure that K's cage gets seriously disinfected before putting a healthy snake in there. And...ratsnakes were (and are) an excellent first choice! Decide what kind you want and be sure of what you buy. Very best of luck. And sorry about your probable loss. Duffy

:I woke up this morning to what I thought was my Rat, Kaiser, dead. She wouldnt move at all and was very stiff. I had gotten a container and picked her up and put her in to take back to the pet store when I noticed her head was faintly moving. Her whole body looked stiff and a bit twisted. After being in the container for a little over a hour she began showing more life but her bottom half still wouldnt move. Her tongue wasnt lively...it would come out, no flicker, and then slowly back in. I thought she was dehydrated but she has always had a full water bowl in her cage. Maybe she came from the shop like that and it finally caught up to her. On the way to the pet shop she began showing much more life actually moving around in her container. I explained the problem to the Pet Co guy and he said he would have her checked out by a vet and take care of the bill. I am very saddened by this though I am at least thankful that they are having her looked at. I know the vet they are going to and he is very good. I just hope there is some help for her.
