Only one question about the selling of "Native" snakes in PA. Would a corn snake be native? I could be mis-interpreting what is defined by "native". There are plenty corn snakes available at the pet stores.
Hope there would be something needed for the keeping of Timbers.
Granted, I have never researched much of the PA state laws. I looked into what was required when I purchased my Indigo. While researching this I came across something from the state on the capture of wild caught. That's when I found out it was allowed. I never really dug into what was allowed to be sold.
::I live in PA and the only snake that I know of which requires a permit is an INDIGO. You OLNLY need the permit to sell it across state lines, if you sell it in PA to a person living in PA no permit is required.
::I also know that in PA you are alowed to take in ANY wild caught snake as a pet. Not that it is recommended. I just caught a baby black rat this past summer, but left go to live in the wild.
::PA, a conservative state for the most part, is actually very lenient on herp pets.

: But I still beleive the state says it's illegal to sell NATIVE reptiles. At least thats what a fish warden had told me one day while trout fishing(he was checking my licsense,I was asking herp questions). The state does allow two of each species to be collected with the exception of timbers which require a special permit and I beleive the possesion limit on them is 1.If anyone knows otherwise, please enlighten use.
