A prey item that is too large is the most common cause of regurge in a snake that has been eating regularly without problems. Wait about a week to ten days then offer one very small pinkie. If that stays down, you can offer a larger pinkie three days later, and then gradually work back up to the size of prey you were using before this happened. The time to move up to a larger prey item, is after the snakie has been taking two items of a size for at least four or five meals. If he can take three items of a size, then he's definitely ready to move up.

:How long should I wait to feed after a regurgitation? I think I fed my yearling black rat a fuzzy that was a little to big. Would that be the cause?
