I got the pair from Kamuron at Bushmaster. They are captive hatched from a wild-caught female who dropped eggs and I bought them as out-of-the-egg hatchlings who had not fed yet (but they still set me back quite a bit $$). That was a bit of a gamble as these snakes have a reputation for being very difficult to start. Fortunately my male has now fed but the female is still going through first shed. The tail is just like the rest of the body. Apparently the red banding on the tail does not come in until the snakes mature a bit.
