The Pet-Co's in Houston,Tx I think are the worst. I refuse to buy anything living from there and only occasionally buy mice from there. On one occassion alone I have walked in there to find a Dead turtle in the turrtle pond. A Black Tegu that could not turn around in it's cage without it's head and tail hitting opposite sides of the glass. I saw a dead green anole in there that had been dead for so long its skeleton was the only remaining part. 12 out of the 14 cages had dry waterbowls. There were dead Guinea Pigs in the cages and they were trying to feed siniloan Milks Crickets. Ther fish tanks were full of dead many dead gold fishall floating at the top. Their Ball Pythons were in deplorable conditions as they lookeed very dry,you could see all there skinfolds and some sort of black bumps were all over them(I'm assuming they were some kind of external parasite). They were not there later that week so I'm sure they died. If thats not bad enough they always have their animals mislabeled and always give out very bad information. The reptile specialist once told me to feed My Tx Coral fish!! I don't know that there is a whole lot I can do. But everytime I'm in there I make sure to let other people tknow the way they treat their reptiles and tell them where they can buy some quality reptiles. I think the best thing to do is find other places to conduct our business with. If a few animals must die to save many more I think it is something we must do.
