I have a pair of them that are over 7 feet. The mother of my female is 10 feet and owned by Rick Sturm. They grow very very very fast and will need a pretty big enclosure after their first year. Mine eat every 5 days and cycle their food quickly requiring more cage maintenance that most snakes. Adults can eat good size rats, small rabbits, just about anything they can shove downd their throats. Go for the bigest tank you can so you don't have to keep buying larger ones. Mine are housed individually in bi-level racks with heat on the bottom and a large crawl space on top. They can be nasty if you're not careful. Don't pick them up after handling rodents or other snakes. They strike with an open mouth and hiss, so you have a little warning. Dispit me explaining the bad points, they are really cool animals to keep.
