:Those with Canon 885's know that the camera picks up reds like no tomorrow. You can see in this pic that his reds are flourescent. This is AFTER I toned down the red saturation.

: Anyways, this is my bairdi, I call him Zuckerman. I rescued him from a pestore that kept him in a small tank with sand as substrate and only a waterdish. He was in such a state that no one would have bought him, but I saw through all the sand and smell and bought him. He's a fantastic feeder, beautiful reds, pink, yellow undertones beneath that steel grey of his. Bairdi colouration is probably the most complex of all snakes. I'm a ratsnake lover, so I could be a tad biased. I only wish there was an adult female out there to create more of these beauties. I find that Zuckerman, has a very rubbery feel to him. Anyone else notice this?

: I suppose they aren't popular due to the fact that like most North American Elaphe (although soon they won't be elaphe soon) the babies come out fairly drab and look a lot like each other. Baird babes are perhaps one of the drabbiest greyish looking babes.

: Anyways, I hope this pic makes you take a second look at our North american ratsnakes. A feel that most NA rats are over looked when compared to the asian beauties. NA rats seem like junk snakes to most people, but I think those yellow rats are incredible. And have you looked at Senticolis triapsis? OH MY! Let's appreciate what we have on our own shores folkz!
