:I for one can't wait to find out if the trait will be passed on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. When do you project that they'll be sexually mature? I'm the most impatient person in the world. It would drive me crazy waiting if that was my project. Best of luck to you.
Thanks SAW, I am getting these guys jump started now just to ensure their survival. Now that they are pretty well established I will probably back off a little on the feeding. Don't get me wrong, I am going to feed these guys well. I just don't want to power feed them. When I first read those advanced vivarium books written by that guy Philippe de Vosjoli I was stoked. I was 17 years old and basically followed the instructions like a cook book. My first endeavor was with albino burmese pythons. This was back when they were over $1500.00 a hatchling. I power fed the heck out of those guys and made my boss a ton of money. They were awesome looking animals but were dead inside of 8 years. Their organs and skeletal systems just could not take it. Since that time I have seen other animals lives shortened by this method and I have vowed to never repeat this procedure again. Still though, these guys will be fed well and should reproduce in at least three years. It will depend on the animals. I have seen some female ratsnakes that will breed and produce good eggs with no ill effects inside of less than two years. It is as if these particular animals were just made to breed. If my cowsuckers take off like that and prove to be breeding machines, than I will go with it, but if they seem to want to lag behind that is o.k. too. Does that make any sense? I must admit that I hope they take off and I predict that they will based on their behavior right now, especially when compared to the lemons. K.E.

::These guys are proving to be quite hardy and are growing very fast. Their growth rates are putting my lemon freaks to shame. They are also very aggresive. Only time will tell if this calico trait can be passed on, but I've got a good feeling about it!!
