I think I have seen my share of obsoleta and have never seen "bug eyed" anything besides leucy Tx rat, at least not to that extent.
This trait is not caused by inbreeding, corns have been inbred for MANY years and "none" exhibit this. It seems the bug eyed trait is strickly linked to the leucism gene in its dominate form. So it seems a little weird this snake would exhibit this trait, could just be a defect of the snake. Got any pics?
Maybe someone else knows something else though:)

:I visited a well known reptile store today and saw a snake that was labeled "true albino yellow ratsnake". It did appear to be a pure albino yellow ratsnake based on the photos of juveniles I've seen from breeders that frequent this forum. What was unusual was that this snake seemed to exhibit the bug eyed trait that is commonly seen in some leucistic Texas Rats.
:I was wondering if Jeff or Dwight or anyone else that breeds albino quadrivittata has ever had this trait show up in their offspring. Is this generally caused by excessive inbreeding or does something else generally cause this trait to show up?
: Thanks,
: Chris
