That's not unusual. I once had a WC juvenile that was tame to the point where you could reach into its cage and take it out without provoking any nipping. It was later sold to a friend whose 3-year old daughter loved to handle it and never was bitten. I must add here that it was a ready feeder at all times.
On the other hand, my first gony(still with me) still strikes at his tank and will not hesitate to bite at any attempt to pick him up. Whenever I want to handle to him, I have to shield his head and take him out of his cage. Once out, he becomes more manageable although his threat display tends to stay on most of the time.
:It's funny, I have one and I'd read about about how mean they are. Mine stits on my arm very still and rests his tongue on my skin. I still don't handle him much because he's not the most reliable feeder, but he seems so tame!
