I asked Tim Gebhard (of Vivid) how long it takes for them to get their adult color. He called it a trick question. Said it all depends, but really, they never stop getting brighter(at least his, anyway). At relatively full adult color, they are around 4-5 years old. Isn't that weird?
Good long-term critters, though.
And its fun watching the changes occur. My female is in an "ugly "stage. She is muddy brown with each shed changing from more to less to more and mixed melanism. I love these guys. They are my favorite snakes.
