In Reply to: *PIC* and a question about a drooling blue... posted by krisg on September 13, 2002 at 10:11:32:
My corn snake drools when he eats, I'm thinking it's a sympathetic/parasympatheic thing, maybe, or like some mamals drooling when they smell/see food (dogs, humans) i used to have rabbits that drooled. Maybe it's like a venom thing, not saying they have venom, but venom is modified saliva, when he gets pissed he drools cuz the "venom" is getting ready? LOL, I don't know, just thinking outloud. I wouldn't worry too much unless you see other problems cropping up.

:Hey guys!
:I don't post here much, but I had an odd thing happen the other night when I was snapping some pics. I had my pair of blue beauties out, the female photgraphed below, but the male wouldn't hold still no matter what I tried. He then all of a sudden got snippy, which is not unusual, he puffed his throat out, not unusual, bit me a couple of time, unfortunately still not unusual, but then he began to DROOL. Large drops of saliva dripped out of his mouth, and it got everywhere. It was almost projectile. Has anyone ever experienced this before? It wasn't white or puss-ish in the slightest, it really just looked like he was drooling.
:any insight would be welcome.
:Thanks,
:Kris
