:Hello all. Has anyone ever fed their ratsnake cooked chicken before?
:My whitesided is taking strips of chicken breast and drums with vigor. I pat them in Flukers vitamin/mineral powder first. Just curious if others are trying the same feeding.
:This is a wonderful suprise for me living in Italy because mice cost between 2.00-3.50 depending on who has them available.

Feeding chicken to your ratsnake as a staple diet isn't a good idea. Feeding cooked chicken is even a worse idea. I have seen photos of snakes with metabolic bone disease from being fed meat products instead of whole animals. The skeleton of the rodent is every bit as important as the the rest of it. I realize that you're adding vitamins to the chicken but I'm not sure that is sufficient. If the cost of the rodents is a issue, try breeding your own.
Good luck,
Chris
