Perhaps you can tell me what variant he'd be known as. His mother is as black as my old pair, and his father appears to be a patternless white, although Ryan & Sheila tell me he was pink as a baby.
At first glance, that looks like a typical black rat snake from my area. They only thing odd (it may just be the angle of the pic) is that there appears to be a bit of striping going on just past the head? Most greenish rats have this blotch/stripe combo going on, but yours is just a tad striped? My guess is that the snake in the photo was produced from founder stock that came from KY, OH, IN, or TN. Just a guess though, :) I'd call it a black rat, IMHO.
