: :Hi,
:Albino yellow rats don't have stripes since they are amelanistic. In normal yellow rats, the stripes occur as the snake matures. The blotches gradually fade and are replaced by stripes. This can vary however, some normal yellows stripe out sooner than others from the same locality. Some individuals even retain traces of blotching into adulthood. But an albino yellow rat shouldn't have stripes, but may have traces of a blotched pattern. The very best ones become nearly unicolor yellow, like the examples posted by Chris.

I will try and borrow a camera. I am wondering if what I have is really a yellow rat - maybe a cross of some type. He is not so much striped as he has whitish lines between the orange/yellow on his back and sides, that I thought would correspond to where the black was if he wasn't an albino.
Thanks for the info and i will try and post a photo.
