I see from Dwight's post that my info is outdated. When I worked at University of Kentucky I had a scientific collecting permit and the regulations on that permit said that all reptiles were protected as non-game species except turles, which could be taken with a valid fishing license. That was nine years ago, and obviously the rules have changed in that time. I'm sorry to have allarmed anyone. I personally don't care what you collect, I just did not want to see people get in trouble for collecting.
