Although I get confused with all the new morphs of corns cropping up daily, one thing I am 100% sure of is that this is a Rat Snake.
And I am 99% sure it is a Black Rat. The 1% is the possibility of Black/Gray intergrade but definately not Corn. The head and facial lines make that pretty easy. I used to have quite a few Black Rats ranging from 8 inches to 64 inches and feel confident on this identification.
But, you never know I could be wrong.
Although, I beleive that you would easily understand and agree with the identification if you had him in hand.
