:As a general rule, I never point out mislabelled animals to a vendor since it's really not my business. If I know the seller personally then I will kindly let them know, but with a total stranger it is quite the contrary. Most people take offense and feel threatened when they are wrong. I feel sorry for those taken in by misrepresentation, but there is not much I can do about it. It is sometimes quite amusing how ignorant some vendors actually are when it comes to the genetics of the very animals they are selling. All one can do is make a mental note not to purchase animals from them. I am sure there are some folks out there that would point out every single tiny error to a vendor, but that is not me. A parallel situation is with the forum posts. Some people take it upon themselves to be "forum police" and spit fire to anything that is incorrect or has a typo, or have a strong opinion on something they know nothing about (see posts below on "bug eye" leucistic rats) I personally don't take part in these type of opinionated posts. Not much point, is there?
:Sorry I got off topic, but your question got me going, lol. See ya in the sloughs....

Dwight, I know exactly how you feel in regard to mislabeled or animals of questionable genetics. One of the biggest breeders of corn snake morphs had several of his breeders on display at Daytona. His "Miami phase" corn caught my eye, and I just shook my head. I didn't say anything, since who needs enemies in this business, but that snake was all wrong. The saddles came down too far on the sides, and the background color was not quite right. Having grown up in Miami, I have probably seen more of these snakes than any of these breeders, and while Dade County, FL. corns do vary, I don't recall ever seeing one like this. Same thing goes for some of the kings that get passed off as "brooksi". Just my 2 cents on this subject.........Steve G.
