Of course there weren't a whole lot of e. obsoleta ssp there to see, except for a few honorable mentions, lol. Wish I had a penny for each normal ball python, boa, and gecko that were at the show... lol.
Scoured the tables both Saturday and Sunday, below are some of the neat things I saw. If anyone else can add to the list, please do so, :)
(This list is limited to elaphe obsoleta ssp and is in no particular order)
* White sided brindle rat snake, produced by Fred's Reps. A neat little snake, looked like a normal licorice stick but had very light smudges of black along the ladder pattern on the back, as is typical of brindles. She should grow up to be a neat looking snake. Asking price... $1000 I was eavesdropping on a conversation at that table and I overheard that BHB enterprises also produced some brindle licorice this year, but don't quote me on that, ;)
* "Motley" black rat snakes, a project in the works by Micheal Joliff. He didn't have any available at the show, but I saw a pic of one he produced from his licorice stick bloodlines. Very cool!
* Licorice stick black rats, produced by MYExotics, Manny and Yvonne Granados. They hatched a few this season that are absolutely STUNNING. They are completely patternless white on the sides, with a very thin pinstripe of pattern down the center of the back. Hands down THE BEST licorice I have ever seen. Hats off to Manny & Yvonne!! Of course they hatched a few albino licorice as well, but these normal licorice pinstripes blew me away. As adults they should be spectular. OK, enough of my ruthless plugging.. lol. Wish I had a picture to show you guys, they were that nice. (stopping now)
Of course there were the usual five and ten dollar yellow rats, everglades rats, etc for sale. Nothing that would really make a person reach for the wallet, lol. I think maybe the Old World rats might have been more popular this year, but I can't say that I paid much attention to those (along with all the ball pythons, boas, geckos, etc)
I have a few pics, will try to post them later.
