:As for the debate about polluting bloodlines - I'm not convinced, as the locality of these two could overlap & therefore this could happen in the wild. Schulz in his Monograph on the Elaphe speculates that Blue Beauties could be an intergrade between Ridleyi & Yunnanensis. Intersestingly, the animal pictured looks a lot like a juvenile Blue Beauty in his book from Kang Kra Chan, Thailand .
