Does my bairdi need to be flagyl-ized?

I have a yearling who is a very inconsistent feeder. His same-age girlfriend is much larger and up to asult mice. The breeder told me that this is unusual in Baird's rats, and he may need a dose of flagyl(which i know nothing about).
Any advice here?
