Are the people down the line who won't know they have been crossed and will unknowingly be putting them into some of our mainstream bloodlines. They have good intentions and aren't being dishonest; they actually don't know they are crosses. All of a sudden someone points out the flow of these mutts and even people who didn't know get hurt in alot of ways. This has happened several times recently (last couple years). I've seen a couple breeders with outstanding collections taking "hits" which takes a few years to rebound. You have to remember that alot of crosses look like crosses at the start, but future offspring over the years can start going back to the traits of one of the original parents. After 4 or 5 years the crosses can look like one of the original parents and I think that's where alot of the problems arise. You buy one of the original offspring crosses and it looks like a cross. Over several years the offspring look more like one of the original parents. Now you got this problem. It doesn't look like this FAD cross so people won't buy your cross. What do you do? You stop calling them crosses and sell them as one of the original parents. Now right about this time I realize that you breed Ridleyi and Blue Beauties. I know your blue breeders are available or were. Wish I could have budgeted them for this year. Every "X" amount of years we should introduce and reenergize our bloodline. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that no one in a few years picks one of these crosses up thinking its a ridleyi or blue and puts these mutt genes in a pure bloodline. The solution to that if it happens is ugly. Good luck Ronda.
