Try Klaus-Dieter Schulz's book "A Monograph of the Colubrid Snakes of the Genus Elaphe Fitzinger". It contains some info about E. davidi (probably the most you can find anywhere on this species) and one picture of an E. davidi that was purchased on a Chinese market. Find a link below to Bushmaster Publications' website.
