Some rat snakes will "musk" you every time you try and handle them, this is not defecation.

:I've got a Black Rat Snake that seems to need to go to the bathroom every couple of days. I was wondering if all you other black rat owners had this "problem." He's full grown and gets a medium rat every other week. Any ideas?
