The new format makes it more difficult to recognize people by their message headers unless they sign their name in the message body.
However, I do understand the issues that Jeff is trying to fight (spam and worms - sounds like a bad survival meal), and we should applaud him for that. Anything that frees up bandwidth and reduces annoyances created by immature punks.
