I have a W/C 01 kentucky locale black rat. He has been very gentle since day one. He was maybe a week old when I caught him in august last year. He shed 3 days later, so I am assuming that was his first shed. Anyways, he has never struck, hissed or been mean at all. Always very gentle and relaxed. He even will crawl up my arm to get out of his cage, and loves to hang out on my shoulders. He isnt what alot of people call a pretty snake,but I like his colors and he is one of the most relaxed snakes I have ever had.
: I have posted occasionally in this forum. I currently have a Taiwan beauty snake and a corn snake(well...those are my colubrids, I have a few boas). I was always interested in the American rat snakes, but my friend got an everglades and its personailly deturred me away from them(IT was mean as HELL). But, I am getting over that fact, and every snake is differnt. What is a good american rat snake to get? I really like the black rats...do they have solid colored ones? What is everyones favorite?
