Hi Doug: Sorry I'm late getting in on this conversation, but I thought a little info might help. Since I am already working with several East Asian Elaphe, i.e. dione and bimaculata, and rufodorsata comes from the same general area, I assume the captive conditions would remain somewhat the same. They could possibly be kept active year 'round, but are probably pretty hardy. I brumate my adults about three months at 50 to 60*F. They are brought back to normal temps, 68 to 82*F, gradually. They will probably start courting before their first shed. They should be enthusiastic breeders. By-the-way, Chinese twin-spots and various Dion's rats mate in autumn, also, and can carry good sperm until spring to use to fertilize their eggs. Also, Central China is very hot and humid in the summertime. Hope this helps. TC.
: Anyone have any info to share on Elaphe rufodorsata? Basically temps, and humidity. Any other info would be appriciated..
: Thanks ahead of time
