At a Herp Show in Colorado a few weeks ago, someone had an adult red-eyed leucistic black rat there (obviously homozygous for both amel and leucistic). It was solid white with red eyes. I too questioned whether it was pure black rat but the seller assured me it was. It did look like a black rat more than a Texas but who knows for sure. She had het babies for sale that were a cross between this snake and a normal black rat. They were $35/ea. I saw her at the end of the show and she had sold none!
