My rat/corn snake has a bulge im wondering about... at the bottom of her head (just behind the lower jaw), there is sort of a bulge. It is there when i pick her up but as i hold her, it seems to go away. whenever i touch it, it doesnt seem to make her uncomfortable. Is it possible that when i pick her up, it startles her a bit and she tries to 'puff up' to scare me? she doesnt hiss or anything... the other day, she was being held and kind ended up getting held wrong and wiggling like crazy till i held her right and then i noticed the bulge again. this would support my theory. other than that, shes a perfect snake! 27" long, never nipped at me, always eats live or f/t. i need to take some more pics cuz shes been growing like crazy. anyway, i guess my main question is do rat/corn snake puff up to bluff?
