If it was collected in Oklahoma, it's a Black Rat. There is a lot of variation in this animal; I have one here with an orange belly,it's from Branford, CT, and in the next town over, I saw one last year with a yellow belly. Some can be all black, many have pattern. Get a copy of Reptiles and Amphibians of Eastern and Central North America by Roger Conant, it will help you a lot.
