I couldnt agree more. I have SEVERAL Tx rats, and 42 various ratsnakes and believe it or not 3 of my corn snakes are mean as devils (meanest I own). Any obsoleta or N. American Elaphe for that matter can range on any end of the scale for temperment.
There are no pure Luecy blackrats, unless someone can prove a wc specimen. All of the luecy blackrats are integrades between Tx and blackrats. As far as the bug eyes, that is going to be present in both of the ssp. The bugs eyes is apperantly a side effect attached to the recessive gene for leucism. Not all have bug eyes though, in fact a small percentage do. Lots of the luecy breeders will cross their strains out to normal specimens to try and stregnthen the line.
One more thing, there will be no visual difference between the two leucy animals. If I weer you I would get a luecy Tx rat
My .02 cents

: I realize this is probably pointless but I have to say it ... The TEXAS RAT SNAKES really are NO WORSE than most other elaphe or obsoleta. Some are little devils some never try to bite in their lifetime! I will say they seem to be more deliberit in their approach, less nervous.
