That's pretty interesting. At what size did you get them? Were they handled a lot until they became docile or were they like this all the while? I sure didn't see this kind behaviour because they are real defensive just like my radiated ratsnake.

While they are definitely one of the most beautiful snakes, there are many more species that are better suited to being a pet. I have found them to be shy and reclusive, and sometimes flighty when removed from their enclosure. If I were looking for a "pet" snake, I would want a species that is calm to handle and not inclined to get spooked and strike at sudden movements. Ridleyi do not fit that profile.
