That's pretty interesting. At what size did you get them? Were they handled a lot until they became docile or were they like this all the while? I sure didn't see this kind behaviour because they are real defensive just like my radiated ratsnake.

: : If I had kept ridleyi as my very first snake, I probably would have abandoned this hobby long ago. While they are definitely one of the most beautiful snakes, there are many more species that are better suited to being a pet. I have found them to be shy and reclusive, and sometimes flighty when removed from their enclosure. If I were looking for a "pet" snake, I would want a species that is calm to handle and not inclined to get spooked and strike at sudden movements. Ridleyi do not fit that profile.
