Anyone else have a mandarin rat that prefers to maul their prey by rapidly striking at it and then swallow it backwards while it's attempting to run away? My other mandarins, and indeed, my other snakes seem to prefer constriction. I'm not really complaining, I'm just scared of what she'll be like at 4 feet... I'd rather deal with a white lipped python. Is this unusual, or part of the species' normal repitoire? I'd post pics, because it's kind of cool to see, but it happens too fast.
