porphyracea coxi or vallanti

Can someone please give me the specifics of the destinction between porphyracea coxi and vallanti? I have seen juveniles and adults that are striped and banded and there are seven or eight other sub species. These two seem to be the ones most often found in collections and I would just like to know how to tell the difference.
