I got my first (subadult) bairdi about a month ago, and he does something weird that I've never seen my other snakes do
When he gets excited (i.e, eating) he starts waving his tail around. Not the fast, excited buzzing my other snakes do, but a slow lashing, much like a cat, that almost seems not to be a conscious movement on his part. Anyone else have a catlike bairdi?
The other weird thing he does (and this may be due to him having a lot of snout-rub from his previous owner) is he flicks his tongue in the direction he's interested in before moving his head. He'll flick his tongue at about a 45 degree angle off from straight out of his mouth, on either side, depending on if he thinks there may be something interesting over away from the direction he's going.
I think it's so cute, and I'm just getting blown away with the colour development with each shed. Thankfully, I'm getting more from Vivid later this summer!
