: I was thinking about getting some blue beauties as an intro to old world rat snakes. I really like their blue coloring, but I've seen some for sale that barely had a hint of blue on them. I was just wondering what kind of variation there is among them and if they darken or lighten with age. Where should I look for nice blue snakes?
When I got mine in jacksonville 4/01 they were about 18 " said to be yearlings not much of a blue pattern then. it grows with time mine are now 41/2 to 5 ft and the color is great . the blue realy stands out and they eat like pigs
good luck Bill
