Prairie Kingsnake (Lampropeltis calligaster) rather than an Elaphe.
It is not a TX Rat snake. It might still be a strange looking Great Plains Rat (Elaphe guttata). It is hard to tell without seeing the head.
Where in "central TX" did you find it?
