Deworming a WC rat snake... NEED HELP!

I'm going to be de-worming my red tailed green rat snake soon. What is the best de-wormer? I've never done this before, so should I do it myself or get my vet to do it? If I could do it myself I would rather do that to save a buck. But let me know what is the best de-worming medicine, and where to get it...
