I have a pair and really enjoy them. First of all, there's not a whole lot of written info such as care sheets on spilotes that I've found. I received my male and care info from my friend Dan Felice. This was actually the second male I received. The first male was a LTC from an importer I took in a trade on a couple of my last year's hatchlings. He never ate and acclimated after I got him and unfortunately didn't make it. I was hesitant to get the one from Dan, but after a lot of info and guidance from Double D (as I call him), my partner Del and I built a cage for him. Well, Dan sent me the male and he's been eating like a spilotes every chance he gets. Thanks again Dangerous Dan. I received my female from Mark Lucas. She's a wild caught from Honduras. She's very nice looking with yellow bands her entire length. After a quarantine and some medicine, I put her in with the male. She's eating three mice herself each feeding. They are both adults and I don't know if its really their breeding time, but they've been hooked up more than a couple times in the last 2 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and now I'll have to pick Dean's and Dan's brains again on egg laying and incubation, since Dan's had a couple hatchlings and Dean's on his first. Good luck Josh and enjoy your spilotes.
