I'm not sure if this trait will breed true when bred to another brindle. My guess is that a few of the babies will show high red, but I will have to wait until this coming breeding season to find out. My adult female brindle has lots of red as well, but is not nearly as "red" as this boy is. I plan to breed him to both her and a wild type female to produce hets (if genetic) and then backcross those with him in a few years. In selecting my breeding stock, I have found that there is great variation among the "brindle" phase. Most being the typical "ashtray" looking morph where it looks like the snake has cigarette ashes dumped on its body. Others are more pleasantly colored.For example, I have a yearling male that is completely tan with red blotches, with almost no black flecking. Beautiful in its own way. Black rats, gotta love em.....
