Yellow Rat Snake question

Hi guys,

I'm getting a male yellow rat snake as part of a package deal for some snakes and swifts that I really wanted. I won't be keeping the rat for long but want to make sure I keep him healthy and happy while he is here with me. So I have a question for you guys. This guy is about 3' long and I have an appropriate home for him but I was wondering if there is anything special I need to know about his care or if I can treat him exactly like I do my corn snakes? Does he need to eat more than once a week? Thanks, your help is appreciated.
