People have had the tendency to misunderstand the Texas rat snake. I think the popularity status is based on a comparison to the corn snake. In the past, the color morphs seemed to be what attracted people to them, but I've seen a great deal of interest and popularity with normal Texas rat snakes. Travis and rob and a few others have posted pics showing the fantastic reds and other colors in normals. Alot of us that possess and work with these great snakes wonder what the unpopularity with them is all about. Good luck and I recommend anyone getting and working with Texas rat snakes.
