Not to contradict you but are you sure that isn't a black rat. I've seen a lot of hatchlings of black and Texas rats with vivid spearpoints on their heads and stripes under their tails. I'm also looking at the shape of the blotches. Then again I'm only going by the picture rather than holding it and examining it closely. Will you show us some belly shots? If that is an emoryi, cool snake and good luck with him.
